Top Ten Recommended Reads Of 2021
As we come to the close of another crazy year, I thought I would take a moment and recommend some of the best articles that have impacted my thinking over the past year. It's amazing how this new era, which suddenly came upon us in 2020, has made me even more hungry to learn and grow.
Most of the listed articles ignited in me a desire for further study, with some of the articles recommending books that I went on to read. But I used all of these articles as discussion points with some of the key leaders in my life.
These are listed in no particular order. But I hope you are as benefited by them as I have been:
1. The Six Way Fracturing Of Evangelicalism - this was incredibly insightful. At the end of the article they provide a test for you to see which 'camp' you with which you most currently identify.
2. Most Christians Don't Believe In The Holy Spirit - this article contains alarming stats based on some recent surveys.
3. A Biblical Critique Of Secular Justice and Critical Theory -this article is very well done by Tim Keller. Deep. Non-partisan. Biblical.
4. How To Lead When You Are Facing Constant Loss & Continual Bad News - I was really ministered by this article.
5. Christian Persecution In 2021 - this is important to keep before us. There are believers around the world that are truly suffering.
6. Three Surprises Of Research Of Conservative & Progressive Christians - interesting!
7. Social Media, Identify, & The Church - very helpful in navigating a polarized and extremist world.
8. What Nobody's Talking About In The Great Resignation - another really awesome post by Carey Nieuwhof
9. Talking To Strangers: What We Should Know About The People We Don't Know - this book by Malcolm Gladwell is one of the best and most helpful reads in understanding why the world is so polarized and broken.
10. The Rise & Triumph Of The Modern Self - this is one of the most important books written in our time. It's deep. But it is really necessary to understand the why behind all of the movement away from objective Biblical truth.
